Melich and Trible Sit T-10 Through Two Rounds at Diane Thomason Invitational

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Taylor Trible fired a 71 in the first round to help the Southern Miss women's golf team shoot a combined score of 604 on Monday at the Diane Thomason Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa.

Elena Melich joined Trible in the top 10 as both are tied for 10^th following two rounds. Trible's opening-round 71 was followed by a six-over 78 in the afternoon. Trible's first round featured five birdies, including four on the back nine at Finkbine Golf Course. Melich shot a one-over 73 in the first round and a four-over 76 in the second round.

Southern Miss trails Iowa, Wisconsin, Montana State, UTSA and North Dakota State. The Hawkeyes are 11-over through 36 holes and lead Wisconsin by seven strokes. The Golden Eagles are two strokes back of North Dakota State and trail UTSA by three strokes.

Senior Momoka Ando is in a tie for 21^st following a two-over 74 and a five-over 77. Ando finished with three birdies on the day. Louise Cuyvers (79-77) finished her two rounds with a 156 and Jacee Fields shot a 160 during Monday's 36 holes.

The 15-team field will tee off on Tuesday for the final round at 8:30 a.m. CT. The Golden Eagles are set to be paired with UTSA and North Dakota State. Fans can follow the live scoring via Scoreboard powered by Clippd.
