
Men’s Golf Stays in Sixth Place with Three-Under Team Round Monday

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Matthew Javier shot a season-low round of 68, while Ryan Dupuy added a 71 and Will Burnham a 72 to lead Southern Miss men's golf to a second-round team score of 285 Monday at the Badger Invitational in Madison, Wis.
Through 36 holes, the Golden Eagles sit in sixth place in the 16-team event being played at the par 72, 7,286-yard University Ridge Golf Course hosted by the University of Wisconsin. Southern Miss finished with a three-under 285 as a team to give them a 574 two-day total, keeping them in sixth place.
The Golden Eagles trail host school Wisconsin by 13 strokes as the Badgers lead the event with a 561. Long Beach State and Northern Illinois are tied for second at 563, while Illinois State is fourth at 571 and Washington State fifth at 572 before Southern Miss in the team standings.
Dupuy, a senior from Baton Rouge, and Javier, a freshman from Toronto, Ontario, lead the way for the Golden Eagles, as both are tied with a stroke total of two-under 142 and an 11th place tie. Burham, a junior from Jackson, Miss., sits one stroke back at 143 and is tied for 17th after two rounds.
Sophomore Supakorn Amornchaichan (Pattaya City, Thailand) added a 78 Monday for a two-round total of 151 and a 60th-place tie, while redshirt freshman Matthew Downing (Oxford, Miss.) put together a round of 74 for a 154 total and holds 78th place.
The final round takes place with a shotgun start beginning at 9:30 a.m. CT. Fans can follow live scoring via Leaderboard King.
