Dupuy, Amornchaichan Shoot Even Par over Final Round of Bearcat Invitational to Lead Southern Miss

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Both senior Ryan Dupuy (Baton Rouge, La.) and sophomore Supakorn Amornchaichan (Pattaya City, Thailand) recorded an even-par 71 over the final round of the Bearcat Invitational Tuesday as Southern Miss placed 18th in the event.

Dupuy ended as the highest Golden Eagle in the final individual standings with a 47th-place tie putting together a final stroke total of 220 at the par 71, 7,111-yard Coldstream Golf Course.

Amornchaichan ended his event, as did freshman Matthew Javier (Toronto, Ontario), tied for 67th with a 223, as Javier added a 75 over his final circuit.

Junior Will Burnham (Jackson, Miss.) fired a final-round 78 to end tied for 81st with a 226-stroke total, while redshirt sophomore Walker Wise (Tupelo, Miss.), shot a third-round 79 to end his event with a 244 and in 96th place.

As a team, the Golden Eagles shot a 295 to finish the event with an 892-stroke total. Louisville won the team event with a six-under 846, beating host Cincinnati by six strokes in the final team standings.

The Golden Eagles return to action Sept. 29-30 at the Badger Invitational in Madison, Wis.
