Men’s Golf Returns to Action Starting Monday in Cincinnati Bearcat Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss men's golf team returns to action Monday and Tuesday when they travel to Cincinnati, Ohio, for the Bearcat Invitational.
The Golden Eagles, which finished 12th in the Argent Financial Classic last week in their opening tournament, play in an 18-team event at the par 71, 7,279-yard course. The teams this weekend along with Southern Miss and the host Cincinnati, includes Augusta, BYU, UCF, Chattanooga, Florida Gulf Coast, Furman, Illinois State, Iowa State, Kansas, Kentucky, Little Rock, Louisville, Memphis, Middle Tennessee, UNC Greensboro, and Sam Houston.
Southern Miss looks to go with the same lineup it did in its opening tournament and includes freshman Matthew Javier (Toronto, Ontario), senior Ryan Dupuy (Baton Rouge, La.), junior Will Burnham (Jackson, Miss.), sophomore Supakorn Amornchaichan (Pattaya City, Thailand), along with redshirt junior Walker Wise (Tupelo, Miss.).
Burnham led the way for the Golden Eagles in the opening event, tying for 20th with a three-over 219. Javier was next at 220 and tied for 30th in both players' first-ever event for the Golden Eagles.
The event starts at 8 a.m. CT each day with a shotgun start. Fans can follow the live scoring by clicking here.
