Track and Field Announces Hiring of Kyle Stringer as Assistant Coach

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss Track and Field coach Jon Stuart announced Friday the hiring of Kyle Stringer as assistant coach for the program.
I am incredibly excited to be at Southern Miss," said Stringer. "l consider it a huge blessing to be granted the opportunity to coach great athletes at a school that has demonstrated such athletic success with a staff that genuinely cares about the athletes they coach."
In his duties at Southern Miss, Stringer will oversee the throwers among his duties with the program.
Stringer comes to Southern Miss after serving as assistant throws coach at the University of Georgia over the last year. In his tasks there, he helped observe and assist student-athletes in the weight room, taught throwers each day on fundamentals as well as to properly execute complex techniques.
Before UGA, Stringer worked as throwing/strength coach at Truett McConnell University in Cleveland, Ga., for two years. The first year he served as a graduate assistant before being promoted to his last role. While there, he wrote the strength and conditioning programs for both the men's and women's track and field squads while also overseeing practices and providing instruction to throwers.
His other work endeavors included owning 212 Sports Performance for over a year, working as a Client Engagement Coordinator for NSCA College Recruiting, camp counselor and was a private coach.
Stringer is a 2021 graduate of Truett McConnell.
