Southern Miss Climbs Two Spots On Day Two of Tulane Classic

NEW ORLEANS – Southern Miss women's golf climbed into seventh after the second round of play at the Tulane Classic presented by Chad Brownstein. It was a two-spot improvement from where the Golden Eagles ended on Sunday afternoon at English Turn Golf & Country Club.
Elena Melich posted the low round of the day and climbed into a tie for 22nd after a one-over 73. Melich enjoyed a birdie on hole seven and hole 10. Momoka Ando leads Southern Miss as the Japan native is tied for 18th. Ando fired a two-over 74 for the second time and had a pair of birdies. Merche Corbacho bounced back with a two-over 74, while Ragini Navet carded a four-over 76. Alma Betoret battled through a 10-over 82 and Taylor Trible was forced to withdraw due to injury.
Missouri took over the lead following a nine-over par day and was one of three teams to go sub-300. The top-five is rounded out with Colorado State, Cal Poly, Notre Dame and Tulane. Tuesday's final round will begin with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
