Lady Eagles Begin Final Week of Regular Season at Texas State

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss women's basketball prepares to put the final touches on its 2023-24 regular season as they play their 28th game of the year at Texas State. Tipoff from San Marcos, Texas, is set for 7 p.m. at the Strahan Arena at the University Events Center.

Southern Miss moved to 16-11 on the year and avoided a losing streak with a 70-59 win at Arkansas State. The Lady Eagles took both rounds of the matchup against the Red Wolves and are now 5-0 against A-State in the last two seasons.
Domonique Davis (DeRidder, La.) moved closer to the top 10 of the career scoring charts with a game-best 19 points. She was joined by a trio of Lady Eagles to make four Southern Miss starters in double—figure scoring.
The Lady Eagles cruised for the most part, leading for over 39 minutes of game time.
ABOUT TEXAS STATE
The Bobcats beat Southern Miss three times last year and split the title with the Lady Eagles and James Madison. This season, Texas State sits at 13-16 overall and just 3-13 in Sun Belt play. The Bobcats consist of eight newcomers and have played as such.
Ja'Niah Henson leads the Bobcats in scoring with 14.8 points per game and also paces the Bobcats with 30.5 minutes per game and an outstanding 93.5 free throw percentage.
