Men’s Golf Opens Play at Dorado Beach Collegiate Sunday

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Both Robbie Latter and Bennett Ruby each shot a three-under 69 in the first round of the Dorado Beach Collegiate Sunday to lead Southern Miss to an 11th–place team showing in the tournament being held in Puerto Rico.
The tournament is being played at the par 72, 7,112-yard TPC-Dorado Beach, Sugarcane Course.
Both Latter and Ruby, along with Supakorn Amornchaichan who is playing as in individual, all are tied for 21st with their first-round 69, while Ryan Dupuy added a 71 for 47th-place tie. Thongpipat Rattanayanon tallied a 73 for a 74th-place tie and Cameron Guidry added a 74 to sit in a tie for 79th.
The Golden Eagles, which shot a team-score of 282, are 12 shots off the lead behind tournament host UNCG (270). West Virginia holds second at 271, before ULM at 275, Ball State at 276 and both Kent State and Illinois State at 277 to round out the top five.
The second round takes place at 8 a.m., local time with a shotgun start.
