Women's Golf Climbs Three Spots at The Ally

WEST POINT, Miss. -- The Southern Miss women's golf team improved three spots on Tuesday at The Ally at Old Waverly Golf Club. The Golden Eagles' 294 puts them in 12th ahead of Wednesday's final round.
Elena Melich's one-under 70 set the tone for Southern Miss as it had three golfers shoot par-or-better. Taylor Trible and Momoka Ando each shot an even-par 72 to help the Golden Eagles improve on day two. Melich and Trible combined for eight birdies, six of which came on the front nine. Louise Cuyvers came into the clubhouse with a seven-over 79, while Jacee Fields went 13-over par.
Ragini Navet fell to 11th on the leaderboard after a two-over 74 today. Navet dished out three birdies on the front nine today after her four-under 68 yesterday. Florida and Mississippi State lead the field at nine-under par, while Vanderbilt and Auburn are both within striking distance of the two.
The final round will tee off at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning and will feature 18 holes of golf. The Golden Eagles get started at 8:42 a.m. with Navet going off hole 10.
