Men’s Golf Holds 11th at Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational after Second Round

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Senior Ryan Dupuy (Baton Rouge, La.) fired a second-round 73 to lead Southern Miss, Sunday, at the three-day, 54-hole Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational at Saucier, Miss.
Dupuy shot a team-low score for the round at the par-72, 7,487-yard Fallen Oaks Golf Club, which put him tied for 58th in the individual standings with a 152 total strokes.
Junior Will Burham (Jackson, Miss.) leads the way for the Golden Eagles in a 32nd-place tie after posting back-to-back rounds of 74 for a 148. Freshman Matthew Javier (Toronto, Ontario), who shot an even-par 72 on Saturday, recorded a 77 on this day, placing him tied for 41st with a 149-stroke total.
Sophomore Tommy Latter (Mississauga, Ontario) added a second-round 74 to possess a 36-hole 151 stroke total and a 53rd-place tie.
Both sophomore Supakorn Amornchaichan (Pattaya City, Thailand) and redshirt freshman Matthew Downing (Oxford, Miss.) total 154 after two rounds, as the pair shot a 77 and an 80, respectively, on Sunday. Downing is playing as an individual in this event and his scoring does not reflect on the team scoring.
The Golden Eagles find themselves in 11th place after shooting a second-round 298 to give them a team score of 598 heading into the final round.
Ole Miss shot a 14-under 274 in the second round to take the lead in the team standings with a 563. They are followed by LSU (567), South Carolina (574), Illinois (576) and Georgia (578) to round out the top five.
The final round starts at 8 a.m., off hole No. 1 and 8:20 a.m. at hole No. 10.
