Hattiesburg, Miss.—The Southern Miss (6-10, 0-2 Sun Belt) men's tennis team takes on Old Dominion (11-9, 3-1 Sun Belt) at 10 a.m. on Saturday, then will face James Madison (9-7, 1-3 Sun Belt) on Sunday at 2 p.m. Both matches are at the Southern Miss Tennis Complex and admission is free.
"Our three seniors have helped shape the program for the future," said head coach Zubin Engineer. "Not only is Saturday Senior Day, but it is also the day we are hosting a free kids clinic and over 200 people for a tailgate. We have two great teams coming in and people should be ready to watch good tennis."
The Golden Eagles are looking to end their five-game skid as they most recently fell 4-0 to Troy last week. Other losses in that stretch include South Alabama, Coastal Carolina, Jacksonville State and New Orleans. Southern Miss' last win was against Jackson State on March 2.
Olimjon Nabiev and Antoine Audrain are leading the charge as the only Golden Eagles with a winning record in singles play. In Doubles, four teams have a winning record, and overall, the Golden Eagles are 18-21 on the season.
Old Dominion heads into Hattiesburg following a loss at Liberty, but have won three of the last five. Cosme Rolland De Ravel comes in hot on a three-match winning streak that accompanies a 10-5 record. Jakob Cadonau is not far behind at 9-5 and is on a two-match winning streak in singles competition. On the doubles side, Francois Le Tallec and Cosme are 9-2 on the season.
James Madison has dropped three of its last five matches, but are coming off a win against Longwood on Tuesday afternoon. Holden Koons leads the way in duals at 12-4 and Julian Lazano is 10-6. In doubles action, Lozano and Edson Sanchez make up the headliners at 7-3.
Southern Miss will celebrate its three seniors – Alan Sanson, Alexander Gima, Antoine Audrain – on Saturday at 9:45 a.m.
