Men's Tennis Slated to Play Troy on Wednesday

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss (6-9, 0-2 Sun Belt) men's tennis team will play Troy (13-4, 1-2 Sun Belt) at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Southern Miss Tennis Complex. The match was previously scheduled to be played last Sunday but was postponed due to inclement weather in the Pine Belt area.
"This is a big week for us as we host three Sun Belt matches," said head coach Zubin Engineer. "Troy is a great team and I am excited to see how we'll stack up against a conference rival."
The Golden Eagles are coming off a tough defeat to South Alabama this past Saturday. Antoine Audrain picked up the only singles win for Southern Miss, downing Juan Accossatto, 4-6, 7-6(5), 10-7. The Golden Eagles also saw Saheb Sodhi and Audrain pick up a doubles win on court three.
Troy heads to Hattiesburg with a 13-4 mark but has lost its last two matches -- both of which were in Sun Belt play. The Trojans have lost each of their last two matches by a 4-3 score to Louisiana and then-No. 75 Old Dominion. Their lone Sun Belt win was a 4-3 decision over James Madison.
