PEARL, Miss. – The Southern Miss-Ole Miss baseball game Tuesday night at Trustmark Park was called in the bottom of the fourth due to unplayable conditions.
The Golden Eagles were ahead 2-1 when the game was called due to players slipping on the infield sod.
The umpires called the game for player safety after the several instances of sod being reset during the game.
It will be ruled a no contest and the game will not be replayed this season.
Southern Miss returns to action this weekend when they travel to Troy for a three-game set. The series starts Friday evening at 6 p.m.
