HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss beach volleyball continues its hot start with two more sweeps in the final day of the Hub City Beach Bash. The Golden Eagles move to 5-0 after clipping Southeastern and William Carey 5-0.
"I'm really proud of the effort from everyone this weekend," said head coach Shawn Taylor. "We stress keeping the ball alive and extending rallies. I can't recall one time we just let a ball drop. If the blocker touched it they were dropping to find it or the defender was pursuing the ball.
This weekend shows the growth our program has made over the last couple of years. The support from the home crowd was incredible. The deck keeps filling up every time we play."
Southern Miss 5, Southeastern 0
The Golden Eagles moved to 4-0 on the weekend with a resounding sweep of Southeastern the would-be championship match of the Hub City Beach Bash.
Only one positional pairing went to three sets with the Lions and still managed to beat SLU across all five flights and the exhibition outing.
