Beach Volleyball Opens 2023 Season with Hub City Beach Bash

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Southern Miss beach volleyball opens its 2023 season with a two-day tournament in Hattiesburg. Matches begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25 with the final match slated for 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26.
The Schedule
Southern Miss' games are scheduled for 10 a.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, and either 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26.
On Saturday, Southern Miss opens with Chattanooga at 10 a.m. The Golden Eagles are 1-0 all-time against the Mocs after beating UTC 3-2 in Hattiesburg last season.
The 4 p.m. game is against a familiar foe in Spring Hill. The Badgers lead the overall series 7-4 after Southern Miss took the last matchup 4-1. This meeting will be the first of two meetings against the Sandy Badgers this season.
Southern Miss closes out the day at 6 p.m. with a set of sets against Southeastern. The Black & Gold are 3-0 all-time against the Lions, last playing in 2021 in Hattiesburg.
Sunday, Feb. 26's slate features a set of games based off Saturday's results. The top two teams after pool play will face off at 1 p.m. with the third and fourth place teams playing prior at 11 a.m. The Golden Eagles will close the day with a 5 p.m. game against William Carey.
Southern Miss is 2-0 all-time against WCU, last facing off in a doubleheader in 2019.
