
Lady Eagles Close Regular Season With Senior Night Against Troy

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Lady Eagle basketball finishes off their 2022-23 home slate with a senior day matchup against Troy. Tipoff from Reed Green Coliseum is set for 6 p.m. Graduate student Lauren Gross will be honored after the game as the Lady Eagles' only graduating player.
Last Time Out
Southern Miss moved to 18-9 and 11-5 in conference play after a monstrous 21-point comeback win over ULM. Melyia Grayson, Domonique Davis and Lani Cornfield all finished with better than 15 points as the team escaped Monroe 84-82 in overtime.
The Troy Series
The Lady Eagles have met the Trojans four times and emerged victorious in each one. The two squads played two games in the 1982-83 season to open the series' history.
Southern Miss won the last meeting 77-75 over Troy to spoil the Trojans' title defense efforts.
Scouting the Trojans
Troy entered the game 17-10 overall and 12-4 in Sun Belt play, occupying the second-overall spot in the conferences' standings.
The Trojans average 81.1 points per game, the fourth-most in the nation and most in the Sun Belt. More impressively, the Trojans bring down 51.56 rebounds per game, the most in the country.
There is not much that Troy cannot do as they can both score at will and from any location.
