HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss (3-2, 0-0 SBC) men's tennis team cruised to a 7-0 drubbing over Alcorn State (0-9, 0-0 SWAC) on Sunday afternoon. It was the first win of the season at the Southern Miss Tennis Complex for the Golden Eagles.
"It's always nice to pick up a dominant win, but there are also areas where I think we can improve on," said head coach Zubin Engineer. "Our guys battled hard in front of our fans for the first time this season and I'm excited to see what we do next weekend."
Southern Miss got off to a fast start in doubles play as all three pairings picked up a 6-2 win over the Braves. Alexander Gima and Alan Sanson moved to 3-0 on the season with their win, while Dakotah Bobo and Saheb Sodhi moved to 2-0.
