Women's Basketball Takes on Coastal Carolina to Close Homestand

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss women's basketball closes out its four-game homestand with a Noon tip against Coastal Carolina tomorrow, Feb. 11, at Reed Green Coliseum. The game marks the first all-time meeting between Lady Eagles and Chanticleers.
Last Time Out
Southern Miss (15-9, 8-5 Sun Belt) faltered in the fourth quarter of a close game, falling 69-52 to the visiting Bobcats of Texas State.
Lani Cornfield (Gowanda, N.Y. // Northwest Florida State) and Domonique Davis (DeRidder, La. // LSU) each contributed 19 points, totaling 38 of the Lady Eagles' 52. The duo both entered the game off the bench.
Texas State ran away from the Lady Eagles in the fourth, outscoring Southern Miss 25-9 in the final 10 minutes of play to escape Hattiesburg with the win.
The Lady Eagles played in front of a capacity crowd of Southern Miss faithful as the men's basketball team claimed first place with a win over Louisiana after the women's final.
The Coastal Carolina Series
Southern Miss and Coastal Carolina have never met on the hardwood. Against Palmetto State teams, Southern Miss is 8-12 and 6-2 at home. The Lady Eagles are 6-8 in conference play against such teams, all 14 games came against South Carolina in the Metro Conference era.
