Men’s Golf Finishes Second Day at Daniel Island Intercollegiate Monday

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss senior Robbie Latter (Mississauga, Ontario) and freshman Supakorn Amornchaichan (Pattaya City, Thailand) each shot a second-round 73, Monday, and the Golden Eagles rank 14th after day two of Daniel Island Intercollegiate in Charleston, S.C.
Being played at the par-72, 7,332-yard Ralston Creek Course at Daniel Island, the Golden Eagles shot a second-round team score of 299 for a 591 overall total, 23 strokes behind leader Middle Tennessee (568). South Carolina holds second place (569), followed by VCU (571) in third, with ULM, Stetson and Coastal Carolina tied for fourth at 573 in the 18-team field.
Amornchaichan is the top Golden Eagle golfer after two rounds, sitting in a ninth-place tie with a three-under, 36-hole 141 score. Latter is next at 148 and a 46h-place tie, while senior Thongpipat Rattanayanon (Bangkok, Thailand) added a 74 for a 151-stroke total and a 62nd-place tie. Junior Cameron Guidry (Picayune, Miss.) shot an 81 for a 152 and a 71st-place tie and junior Ryan Dupuy (Baton Rouge, La.) rounds out the team's individual scores with a 79 for a 159 total and an 89th-place tie.
Amornchaichan over the first 36 holes has posted one of only five eagles in the event and his seven birdies is tops for the Golden Eagles this week.
