Men’s Golf Holds Eighth Place After Second Day of Fallen Oak Collegiate

SAUCIER, Miss. – Senior Robbie Latter (Mississauga, Ontario) and junior Ryan Dupuy (Baton Rouge, La.) each carded a 74 following the second day of the Fallen Oak Collegiate, Monday, placing Southern Miss into eighth place.
Being played at the par-71, 7,487-yard Fallen Oak Course by Beau Rivage, most of the 12-team, 72-player field, shot higher rounds Monday in this three-day, 54-hole tournament. Auburn did shoot a five-under 283 as a team to take first place in the team standings with a 565, six strokes ahead of Mississippi State (571) and nine ahead of Ole Miss (574).
The Golden Eagles dropped from fourth to eighth after shooting a 13-over 301 to hold a 591 after 36 holes.
Latter holds a 13th-place tie after two rounds with a 144, two strokes better than Dupuy (146), who sits in a 21st-place tie. Freshman Supakorn Amornchaichan (Pattaya City, Thailand) added a 77 for a 152 score and a 50th-place tie, while senior Thongpipat Rattanayanon (Bangkok, Thailand) added a 76 for a 153 and a 58th-place tie. Redshirt freshman Walker Wise (Tupelo, Miss.) rounded out the team scores with an 84 for a 157 and a 64th-place tie.
Junior Cameron Guidry (Picayune, Miss.), playing as an individual, fired a 75 for a 149-stroke total and a 29th-place tie in the individual standings.
The tournament finishes with the third and final round, Tuesday, as the 12 teams begin teeing off at 8 a.m., CT from both No. 1 and No. 10 tees.
