Men’s Golf Places Sixth at Oregon State Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Seniors Robbie Latter (Mississauga, Ontario) and Thongpipat Rattanayanon (Bangkok, Thailand) enjoyed the team's lowest scoring rounds over the final 18 holes of the Oregon State Invitational to lead the Golden Eagles to a sixth-place finish.
The duo each finished in the Top 12 of the event, which was played at the par-71, 7,384-yard Trysting Tree Golf Clug in Corvallis, Ore.
Latter posted his second Top 10 finish of the fall by collecting a final-round 73 to end at a one-over 214 for a sixth-place tie. Rattanayanon added an 11th-place tie after posting a team-low round of 72 to end his event with a 216.
Freshman Supakorn Amornchaichan (Pattaya City, Thailand) saw his final standing rise 21 spots over the final round to register a 27th-place tie with a 73 over his final circuit with a 221 final total.
Walker Wise, a redshirt freshman from Tupelo, Miss., added a 77 over his final 18 holes to post a 225 and a 54th-place tie, while junior Ryan Dupuy (Baton Rouge, La.) completed the Golden Eagle scoring with a 79 to end with a 231 and an 82nd-place tie.
Host Oregon State won the team title by six strokes with an 855, besting Washington State (861) and Arkansas State (868), who come in second and third, respectively.
The Golden Eagles finished their final round with a team score of 295, which was the sixth best collective round of the day.
Southern Miss returns to action Oct. 15-17, when they tri-host the Fallen Oak Collegiate with Ole Miss and Mississippi State.
