
Domonique Davis' Second-Half Performance Completes Lady Eagles Come-From-Behind Win Over Arkansas State

JONESBORO, Ark. – Southern Miss (14-6, 7-2 Sun Belt) overcomes a 10-point halftime deficit to top Arkansas State (6-14, 1-8 Sun Belt), 68-59, thanks to a 46-point second half performance and a Domonique Davis double-double. Four Lady Eagles finished in double-figure scoring.

Femi Funeus (Plantation, Fla. // Seton Hall) returned to the starting lineup for the first time in four games. She finished with nine points and seven boards on 27 minutes of play.
Jacorriah Bracey (Drew, Miss. // Ole Miss) opened the game with her first basket of the game at the nine-minute mark in the opening frame. There were few Lady Eagle highlights for the remainder of the first half outside of Bracey's long three late in the first.

Domonique Davis (DeRidder, La. // LSU) grabbed the final lead change of the day with a hard and one layup with 5:14 left in the game. The Lady Eagles did not surrender the lead, outscoring A-State 46-27 in the second half.
In the final two quarters, Southern Miss scored more on free throws than field goals, connecting on 11 buckets compared to 23 free throws. The Red Wolves made 21 baskets compared to Southern Miss' 19.
The Lady Eagles crashed the glass, grabbing 40 boards compared to Arkansas State's 29. 26 made free throws are the most of the year and the most since making 27 against ULM last year.
Davis grabbed her 10th board of the game in the final minute to give her her second double-double of the season and her career.
