Oliwia Wawrzyniak Named Sun Belt Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week

New Orleans—Golden Eagle freshman Oliwia Wawrzyniak was named the Sun Belt Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week; the league announced Sept. 21.
The Poland native took eighth place in the 5K run at the North Alabama Showcase Friday, Sept. 16, posting a school record of 16:50.33. Wawrzyniak helped the Golden Eagles finish sixth overall out of 39 teams.
"Oliwia executed what she has been preparing for all summer, and I am looking forward to what she will accomplish the rest of the season. She has been grinding away and will continue to do so, and I am beyond proud of her," said Head Coach Nick Gibson.
