Carson Paetow Named Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss freshman outfielder Carson Paetow earned a spot on the Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-America squad in an announcement made by the publication Wednesday morning.
Paetow, from Vancleave, Miss., has played in 63 games this season and made 59 starts, 58 of those coming in rightfield. He has batted .278 with 15 doubles and 16 home runs to go along with a 48 RBI in his initial season with the Golden Eagles (47-17) who will play Ole Miss in the Hattiesburg Super Regional this weekend.
The Conference USA All-Freshman team member is tied for second on the squad in home runs.
As a leadoff hitter for the Golden Eagles this season, Paetow has helped propel the squad to an 18-1 record. He homered three times in the Hattiesburg Regional last weekend.
For the season, Paetow enjoys 16 multi-hit games and 13 multi-RBI games. His longest hitting streak of the season was at eight games.
Paetow's honor marks the third-straight season the publication has honored a Golden Eagle to its Freshman All-America squad – Reed Trimble in 2021 and Ben Ethridge in 2020 – and the ninth under coach Scott Berry and 22nd overall since 1992.
