Baseball Sets Home Attendance Marks in 2022

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The success on the field for Southern Miss Baseball translated into record crowds at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field during the 2022 season.
Over the 28 regular season home dates, a school-record 133, 578 came through the turnstiles to enjoy the Pete Taylor Park Magic as the school also established its single-game record twice during the year as well as for a three-game series.
The Golden Eagles originally drew a record crowd of 5,706 against Louisiana Tech, April 2, and then bettered that mark May 11, with an attendance of 6,346 against Ole Miss. Still, during the that three-game Louisiana Tech series, the Golden Eagles drew a record three-day crowd of 16,313 against the Bulldogs.
In fact, the 2022 season saw the Golden Eagles draw their No. 1, No. 2 and No. 5 highest ever attended games at The Pete.
Following the regular season, Southern Miss ranked No. 10 nationally in average attendance (4,771) and No. 12 in total attendance, which would be the highest ever finish for the school in either category.
Both rankings for per game and total attendance is the highest in country outside of the Southeastern, Big 12 and Atlantic Coast Conferences.
The school also registered record season ticket sales that finished at 2,677.
