Men's Tennis Takes Five-Match Winning Streak to Florida for Saturday Match

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss men's tennis team will wrap up its road slate this weekend when it travels to Boca Raton, Fla. The Golden Eagles (9-7, 0-2 C-USA) will take on No. 47 FAU (14-4, 1-0 C-USA) on Saturday morning at 8 a.m. CST. The Golden Eagles were scheduled to take on Georgia Southern on Sunday in the Sunshine State, but that match has been postponed due to the projected weather forecast.
"The weather isn't looking too good as of right now for Sunday, but FAU will be an incredible test on Saturday with their position in the rankings," said head coach Zubin Engineer. "It's going to be a good match heading into the conference tournament and then when we play New Orleans next Sunday."
The Golden Eagles are coming off a 4-0 win against Alcorn State on Tuesday afternoon where they swiftly took the doubles point and swept the singles matches. Dhruv Sunish, Christopher Cahour and Pawin Jirapoomdaje each picked up singles wins in straight sets to held extend Southern Miss' winning streak to five-straight matches. Pasawee Reansuwong and Sunish claimed a doubles win on court thre and Shamirul Shahril and Antoine Audrain secured the doubles point on court two.
Scouting the Owls

The Golden Eagles will head back to Hattiesburg after Saturday's match to get ready for the season finale on Sunday, April 10 against New Orleans. First serve is slated for 2 p.m. CST at the Southern Miss Tennis Complex.
