Golden Eagles Welcome UTEP to Hattiesburg for Saturday Tilt

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss men's basketball team is set to play its third-straight home game on Saturday afternoon, as the Golden Eagles (6-19, 1-11 C-USA) welcome UTEP (15-10, 8-5 C-USA) to Reed Green Coliseum. Tipoff on Fourth Street is slated for 12 p.m.

The Need to Know
- The Golden Eagles are coming off an overtime loss to UTSA on Thursday night. Tyler Stevenson grabbed an offensive rebound and scored at the buzzer to send the game to extra time. Southern Miss would fall, 98-79.
- Saturday's game is the third of a four-game homestand for Southern Miss.
- Walyn Napper's 2.32 assist to turnover ratio leads C-USA and ranks 49^th nationally.
- Against WKU, Isaih Moore became only the third C-USA player this season to record at least 25 points and 12 rebounds in a game this season. Moore joins LA Tech's Kenneth Lofton and Rice's Max Fiedler as the only players to do so.
- Stevenson is 29th all-time on the Southern Miss scoring list with 1,158 points. He trails Mickey Harrington (1951-55) by three points.
- Napper went for a career-high 21 points against UTSA and dished out six assists.
- Moore's six blocks were the most by a Golden Eagle since Gary Flowers swatted seven against New Orleans in 2009.
- Against UTSA, DeAndre Pinckney recorded his second-straight double-double after going for 17 points and 11 rebounds. His 11 rebounds were a career best.

Scouting the Miners
- UTEP is coming off a three-point win at LA Tech on Thursday night. Souley Boum went for 28 points and 12 rebounds.
- Boum's 20.1 points per game leads all C-USA players.
- Jamal Bieniemy paced UTEP with 19 points and seven assists in the Jan. 8 meeting in El Paso. Boum added 17 points in the win.
- UTEP's scoring defense (65.9) ranks third on C-USA.
- In his 11^th season, Miner head coach Joe Golding has a 173-154 record. It's his first year the helm of the UTEP program.

The Series History
- UTSA leads the all-time series, 18-17, and won the Jan. 8 meeting, 87-54, in El Paso.
