Men's Basketball Eyes Sin City Success at UNLV

0 HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss men's basketball team is off to Las Vegas to battle UNLV (10-1, 0-0 MWC) in the final game of its non-conference slate on Thursday night. The 11-win Golden Eagles (11-1, 0-0 SBC) will tip at the Thomas & Mack Center at 9 p.m. CST.

- The Golden Eagles' 11 wins are the most under Jay Ladner in a single season since he started in 2018
- Southern Miss is 11-1 for the third time in program history and for the first time since the 1990-91 season
- Felipe Haase is coming off a 28-point performance in Tuesday's 91-65 win over Lamar and a 19-point night against McNeese on Sunday

- Southern Miss had a record-breaking day in the steals department against Lamar on Dec. 10 as its 21 steals was the fourth most in a single game in program history
- Three days later it set a program record for three-point attempts when it tried 42 at Lamar on Dec. 13
- The Golden Eagles have now hit 14 three-pointers in back-to-back games
- Southern Miss' lone loss this season was a buzzer-beating defeat at Northwestern State on Dec. 4
- Haase (7.1) and DeAndre Pinckney (6.7) each average six rebounds per contest and Haase's 85 lead the team
- Ladner went with the starting lineup of Tyler Morman, Mo Arnold, Crowley, Pinckney and Haase last game. It was the fifth time he's used it this season and they are 5-0 when that unit starts
