Sun Belt Releases Men's Basketball Conference Slate

NEW ORLEANS -- The Sun Belt Conference has announced its schedule for the 2026-27 men's basketball season, which features nine home games for Southern Miss.
The Golden Eagles will open Sun Belt Conference play before the calendar turns to the new year for the third consecutive season, welcoming James Madison to Reed Green Coliseum on Dec. 19.
Southern Miss closes out the year at Georgia State (Dec. 31) and opens 2027 at Georgia Southern (Jan. 2) before returning home to host Coastal Carolina (Jan. 7) and Old Dominion (Jan. 9). The Golden Eagles continue their homestand against Troy (Jan. 13) before traveling to Arkansas State (Jan. 16).
Conference play returns to Reed Green Coliseum with ULM (Jan. 20) before Southern Miss heads to South Alabama (Jan. 23) and Louisiana Tech (Jan. 28). The Golden Eagles close out the month by hosting Louisiana on Jan. 30.
The month of February begins with a trip to App State (Feb. 6) before Southern Miss returns home to face Louisiana Tech (Feb. 11). The Golden Eagles then travel to Louisiana (Feb. 13), ULM (Feb. 17) and Troy (Feb. 20) before wrapping up the regular season at home against Arkansas State (Feb. 24) and South Alabama (Feb. 26).
