Scouting the Mean Green
• Head Coach Jalie Mitchell is in her 7th season leading the Mean Green and has posted a 7-8 (1-4 C-USA) mark so far this season.
• Junior Quincy Noble was selected as the Preseason Conference USA Player of the Year and is averaging 14.2 PPG up to this point.
• Noble is joined in double-figures by Aly Gamez (11.1) and Jazion Jackson (10.5)
• Madison Townley became the all-time leading rebounder in Mean Green history in their last game, and has now collected 764 rebounds in her career.
• UNT is one of the top rebounding teams in Conference USA on the defensive end, having pulled down 30 or more defensive rebounds in eight of their contests this season.
Scouting the Lady Eagles
• Daishai Almond, Kelsey Jones and Destiny Smith have all been with the Lady Eagles since their freshman season and bring a combined 265 games played to the table.
• Southern Miss senior Kelsey Jones is on pace to end her career with the best all-time field-goal percentage of any Lady Eagle to ever don the Black & Gold. The Starkville native is currently shooting at a 59.3-percent clip throughout her career.
• Dating back to the 2019-20 season, Southern Miss is 18-1 when holding opponents under 70 points, with the only loss coming against FIU in OT last season. Consequently, the Lady Eagles are 0-18 when giving up 70 or more.
• The Lady Eagles have outscored all but one team inside the paint this season. Southern Miss has outscored teams 629 to 430 inside the paint, which comes out to the Lady Eagles averaging 37.0 points and holding teams to 25.3.
