Men’s Golf Opens 2021-22 Season at Jim Rivers Intercollegiate

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss men's golf team opens the 2021 fall season at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate in Choudrant, La.
The Golden Eagles will play at the par 72, 7,105-yard Squire Creek Country Club course and will play 18 holes over three consecutive days, beginning, Sunday, Sept. 12. Tie times for the event will be at 7:30 a.m., on Sunday and Monday with an 8 a.m., tee time on Tuesday.
Southern Miss will be a part of a 20-team field that includes Abilene Christian, Little Rock, Central Arkansas, Francis Marion, High Point, Houston, Lamar, Louisiana-Lafayette, host Louisiana Tech, LSU, Middle Tennessee, Rice, South Alabama, Chattanooga, UT Arlington, Troy, ULM, UTSA and WKU.
The lineup for coach Eddie Brescher includes sophomore Robbie Latter (Mississauga, Ontario), sophomore Thongpipat Rattanayanon (Bangkok, Thailand), senior Hunter Atkins (West Point, Miss.), senior Brice Wilkinson (Madison, Miss.) and freshman Ryan Dupuy (Baton Rouge, La.).
Wilkinson led the way for the squad a season ago by collecting a 72.35 stroke per round average, including 12 of 23 season rounds of par or below. Rattanayanon was next at 74.00, while Atkins posted a 74.71 average.
