OXFORD, Miss. – No. 3 seed Florida State belted three home runs to upend No. 2 seed and 20th-ranked Southern Miss 5-2 Friday afternoon in the opening game of the NCAA Oxford Regional at Swayze Field.

He got a fly ball to start the sixth, but rightfielder Reece Ewing misplayed the ball and the Seminoles opened the sixth with a baserunner. The next hitter, Lacey, then ripped his eighth home run over the leftfield wall to tie the score at 2-2. FSU then took the lead for good with a homer from Elijah Cabell, his 15th, later in the frame.
