Golden Eagles Set for Two C-USA Matches in Tennessee

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Southern Miss is headed to the Volunteer State for C-USA matches Saturday and Sunday, first against Western Kentucky, followed by Middle Tennessee. Both are at 11 a.m.

The Golden Eagles are coming off an exhilarating, 4-3 win over South Alabama last Friday, its first over the Jaguars in program history. Sarah Medik picked up one of the larger singles wins in recent history, upending a three-time First-Team All-Sun Belt performer and 2019 Player of the Year, Yurie Takanishi.
As for the squad as a whole, eight have seen time on the courts through the team's 3-1 start, featuring 14-10 and 6-5 records for singles and doubles, respectively.
WKU is seeking its second win of the year amidst a difficult schedule that includes Kentucky and No. 15 Vanderbilt. Middle Tennessee is 5-6, having also played those two squads, and the Blue Raiders also boast recent victories against Murray State, Austin Peay and Chattanooga. Southern Miss' last contest with either team was a 4-3 win over Middle Tennessee in April 2017.
