Southern Miss Concludes Bulldog Relays

STARKVILLE, Miss. – The Golden Eagles picked up another victory at the Al Schmidt Bulldog Relays, as the women's 4x100 relay team of Jasmine Burns, Trinity Flagler, Savi'a Varnell and Trinity Benson combined to run 45.54 to capture first on Saturday at the Mike Sanders Track and Field Complex.
"We had a good opening meet," head coach Jon Stuart said. "We still have a lot of improving to do, but I'm pleased with where we are at the start of the season."
In the 1500m, Savannah McMillon (4:29.56) and Lina May (4:30.87) both recorded personal-best to finish sixth and seventh in the event.Elijah Miller and Trinity Benson both finished fourth in the 100m dash, with Miller finishing with a time of 10.41 and Benson sprinting to an 11.77 finish.
Competing in his first outdoor meet for the Black and Gold, Landon Chalden earned a bronze with a 52.56 performance in the 400m hurdles.
The Golden Eagles return home next weekend to host the Southern Miss Invitational at the Marshall Bell Track Complex.
