TUCSON, Ariz. -- Southern Miss Women's Golf finished competition at the stacked MountainView Collegiate Sunday, finishing 12th out of 14 teams.
Eight of squads were ranked in the top-50, and the Golden Eagles finished play at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate in New Orleans on Tuesday.
Merche Corbacho improved her score once again, carding a 72 for her third even-par score of her freshman season, finishing tied for 39th overall. She had six birdies for the day. Friend Chompitakdacha claimed a tie for 26th after a 2-over 74, putting her in the top-30 for the third time in four events.
Chompitakdacha ultimately finished with the highest par-four score of the field, averaging a 3.85. Valeria Pichardo (57th), Emily Cox (63rd) and Julie Baker (69th) rounded out the field.
One more tourney awaits before C-USA Championships: the Lamar Cardinal Challenge in Beaumont, Texas, from April 5-6.
