Southern Miss Heads East to Carolina Challenge

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss beach volleyball team is set for its third weekend of the season, where it will travel to Columbia, S.C., for four more road challenges. Live stats are available on SouthernMiss.com.
Saturday (Times CT)
Jacksonville - 12 p.m.
No. 16 South Carolina - 4 p.m.

Mercer - 8 a.m.
(RV) Coastal Carolina - 12 p.m.
Six of the Golden Eagles' eight opponents so far have been ranked in the top-18. Southern Miss has kept consistent in its lineup the whole way, and even had the chance to get freshmen, and North Texas natives, Faith Miller and Haley Rogers some exposure on an extra court at the Horned Frog Challenge. They became the fifth rookies to appear this season.
Southern Miss has some historical significance with the Gamecocks. Back on April 20, 2019, its inaugural season, Kylie Grandy and Abbey Wilson earned a 21-16 sweep on No. 1 against the No. 11 Gamecocks, the program's first over a ranked foe.
The Golden Eagles last faced Coastal Carolina in 2019 and have never seen Mercer. Coastal (4-3) is 1-2 against ranked foes this year, while Mercer is 5-6 overall.
