For the first time this season, the Golden Eagles are traveling six golfers. Those traveling include Elena Melich, Friend Chompitakdacha, Tenley Moretti, Merche Corbacho, Momoka Ando, and Jacee Fields. Field will be competing as an individual.
The 11-team field will play in foursomes and two players from each team will ride in a cart for the first 36 holes and walk the final 18 holes on Tuesday, Nov. 9. The field includes Cincinnati, Charleston Southern, Delaware, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Kennesaw State, Lamar, Mercer, Samford, and Seminole State.
Southern Miss had a record day the last time it competed as the Golden Eagles fired the sixth-lowest 54-hole total in program history. Melich paced the Golden Eagles as the freshman finished tied for eighth. Ando carded a four-under par 68 in her final round to finish tied for 13th. Fields is making her second appearance this season and first since the USA Intercollegiate in early September.
The three Southern Miss pairs tee off from hole 10, 11, and 12 at 8:30 a.m.Â
