El-Zare on the hiring of Valadares
"J.P. is someone who's playing career speaks volumes. He has played at a high level and is a well-respected individual in the soccer community. In addition to his playing experience, J.P. also comes to Southern Miss with a wealth of coaching experience having served as the goalkeepers coach for both the men's and women's soccer teams at Pearl River Community College, and as an assistant coach for the Hattiesburg Futbol Club. Being a former goalkeeper himself, J.P. really understands the position, and he also understands what we are trying to do offensively and defensively moving forward. I am excited to see what J.P. will bring to our program, and to watch him grow as a coach."

Pearl River Community College Head Men's Soccer Coach Drew Gallant on Valadares
"I know this may sound corny, but there are too many positives that I can say about JP. He came in here as a goalkeepers coach, but he proved he was more than just a goalkeepers coach. He was great for us tactically, he could run sessions for us, and all of the players loved him. Southern Miss is really lucky to have him and we were really lucky to have him as long as we did."
Pearl River Community College Head Women's Soccer Coach Henrik Madsen on Valadares
"We have nothing but good things to say about J.P. We loved having him on our staff. Southern Miss is a getting a great assistant coach. He is a young, energetic guy that loves the game."
