Southern Miss is now on a losing streak of five, but look to change their luck around against Marshall. Respect Leaphart had a double-double in the contest against Charlotte, posting 17 points and 12 rebounds. Of her 12 boards, 10 of them were on the defensive glass. Destiny Smith saw her first career start, and Amber Landing was re-introduced to the lineup. Kelsey Jones continues to lead Southern Miss in rebounds, now up to 119, and Daishai Almond is the leader in assists with 85.Â
Marshall is led by Head Coach Tony Kemper, who is in his third season with the Thundering Herd. Marshall is coming to Reed Green with a win under their belt after going on a four-game loss streak. They defeated Florida Atlantic at home to the tune of 85-75 in Cam Henderson Center. Savannah Wheeler is the one to watch for Marshall, leading her team in both points (272) and assists (53).
