
Southern Miss Track & Field Unveils 2021 Schedule

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss track and field have released its 2021 indoor and outdoor schedule. The Golden Eagles will compete in four regular season meets in the indoor season and six for the outdoor season.
"At long last, we are excited about getting to compete in track and field again after having an entire outdoor season taken away," head coach Jon Stuart said. "We are excited about our schedule and getting back on the track. We are anxious to compete. We have a lot of new faces and I'm very excited to see these kids compete."
The Golden Eagles will stay on the road for the entirety of the indoor season.
The team will open the season at UAB's Vulcan Invitational at the Crossplex in Birmingham, Ala. on Saturday, Jan. 16, before making a trip to Nashville for the Vanderbilt Invitational on Jan. 22-23. Next up is a trip to Baton Rouge, La for the Louisiana Invitational on Jan. 29. The Black and Gold will conclude the regular season returning to Nashville on Feb.12-13 for the Music City Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt.
They will head back to the Crossplex on Feb. 20-21 for the C-USA Indoor Championships and conclude the indoor season on Mar. 12-13 in Fayetteville, Ark. at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
Southern Miss will begin their outdoor season at the Bulldog Relays hosted by Mississippi State on Mar. 19-20. The Golden Eagles will return home to host the Southern Miss Invitational on Apr. 2-3, with Saturday being senior day. The Black and Gold will then travel to Tuscaloosa on Apr. 9-10 for the Crimson Tide Invite. The team will continue competition in Alabama making the trip to Auburn for the War Eagle Invitational on Apr. 16-17. On Apr. 24, the team treks to Baton Rouge, La. for the LSU Alumni Gold Invitational. The Golden Eagles will conclude the regular season at the Bulldog Invite at Mississippi State on May 1-2.
Turning their focus to the postseason, the C-USA Championships will be held by Middle Tennessee in Murfreesboro, Tenn. from May 13-16. Qualifiers from the season will then go to the NCAA East Regional in Jacksonville, Fla. on May 27-29. The NCAA Track & Field Championships will take place in Eugene, Ore. at the new Hayward Field.
