Men's Tennis Opens Season Tuesday in New Orleans

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- At long last, the Southern Miss men's tennis team is set for its season opener. The Golden Eagles take on Prairie View A&M at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the University of New Orleans.
"This is always an exciting time," head coach Zubin Engineer said. "We always look forward to the new year, and this team has a lot of freshmen and new faces. I can't wait to see how they grow out of these early experiences."
Prairie View A&M fell in its season opener, 6-1, to UL Lafayette on Monday. The Golden Eagles defeated the Panthers, 4-0, in last year's Senior Day as well.
Head coach Zubin Engineer enters his seventh year at the helm with 91 wins.
The Golden Eagles will also host Alcorn State (Friday) and Florida A&M (Saturday) at 2 p.m. to open the home slate.
