Women’s Soccer Travels to Auburn for Friday Night Contest

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss women's soccer team (3-3-0) will take on SEC opponent Auburn (3-2-0) at the Auburn Soccer Complex in Auburn, Ala. on Friday, September 13 at 6:30 p.m. (CT).
The last time out
The last time that Southern Miss took the pitch, they captured an 8-0 victory over Mississippi Valley State on Sunday (September 8) afternoon.
Junior midfielder Jenny Caracheo led the Golden Eagles with a hat trick and six points in the contest.
Redshirt junior forward Alice Campos registered two goals and an assist in the match while redshirt junior forward Hailey Pohevitz recorded a goal and an assist. Redshirt sophomore forward Mackenzie Hamilton and junior forward Ariel Diaz also tallied a goal each.
Junior midfielder JoAnnie Ramos, junior defender Keely Hoppmeyer and freshman defender Chantae Blackwood were all credited with one assist a piece in the match.

Auburn is led by longtime Head Coach Karen Hoppa. Hoppa was named the head coach of the Auburn women's soccer program in 1999. After defeating Missouri 1-0 on October 14, 2018, Hoppa became the eighth female head coach to amass 300 wins at the Division I level. Over the course of her career at Auburn, Hoppa has guided the Tigers to 16 NCAA Tournament appearances.
For the 2019 season, Auburn currently holds a 3-2 record. Auburn's three wins have come against Kennesaw State, Mercer and Maryland. #14 South Florida and Virginia Tech are responsible for handing the Tigers their two losses on the season.
