Four Golden Eagles Ready for NCAA Indoor Championships

The track and field athletes will be competing in Birmingham, Ala.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Four track and field athletes from Southern Miss are set to compete in five events at the NCAA DI Indoor Track and Field Championships, held at Birmingham CrossPlex. McKinely West, Caleb Parker, John Warren and Eric Richards will be representing the Golden Eagles on March 8-9.

All four student-athletes have enjoyed much success this indoor season, posting nationally-ranked marks, first-place finishes and breaking school, conference and facility records.

McKinely West will be competing in both the 60m and the 200m. He will compete at 7pm for the 60m and then at 7:52pm for the 200m. Eric Richards will be competing in the men's high jump, which will take place at 1pm on Saturday. Caleb Parker will be competing in the 60m hurdles, starting at 6:20pm on day one. John Warren will be taking his turn in the triple jump on Saturday at 5pm.

At the Conference Championships, all four won gold in their five events. Parker and West both secured new meet records, while Richards found himself with the new school record.
