HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- There are only three opportunities left to see the Southern Miss men's tennis team at home, and it all begins Sunday at 12 p.m. against New Mexico State. Admission is free.
The Aggies (6-8) and Golden Eagles have one mutual opponent, UT Rio Grande Valley, whom they both defeated 4-3.
Southern Miss has found its groove lately in doubles, improving to 13-16 after a 7-14 start. Jorman Reyes won with Mieszko Kwasniewski over FAMU last weekend, and he is 5-1 when competing with Ronit Bisht. Reyes ultimately went 3-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles as the team swept the week against UNC Greensboro, Appalachian State and FAMU, all by 4-0 decisions.
Reyes and Chung-Han Tsai each sport 6-2 records in singles play, the best marks on the team. Senior Teeradon Tortrakul also returned from injury against FAMU last Sunday and picked up a sweep in his battle as well.
That victory over the Rattlers came in the team's first home match since Jan. 28, and the team holds a 28-4 record in Hattiesburg since the start of Spring 2017.
