Men's Tennis Falls in Hard-Fought Battles to ETSU, Georgia State

JOHNSON CITY, Tennessee -- The Southern Miss men's tennis team began its four-match spring break trip with matches against Georgia State and East Tennessee State, falling 4-0 in each one this weekend.

The Saturday match against the Panthers saw Southern Miss have three singles tilts decided by one point when the action was called, with Jorman Reyes, Matthieu Peres and Chung-Han Tsai holding steady. He and Ronit Bisht, the team's top doubles pair all year, were unable to get either of their battles finished.

The Panthers are a solid bunch, having defeated Clemson and winning two sets against No. 31 South Carolina. ETSU moved to 9-3, including a six-match win streak that featured a 7-0 win over mutual opponent Louisiana.

The Golden Eagles will continue their tour of the Southern Conference this weekend, playing at UNC Greensboro on Thursday and Appalachian State on Friday.
