GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Southern Miss men's tennis team came out hot and stayed hot in a 4-0 win over UNC Greensboro on Thursday afternoon.
It was the team's seventh match away from home, all against stout competition from Texas, to No. 20 LSU and now North Carolina.
The team saw plenty of perseverance and resilience in all facets, especially doubles. Jorman Reyes and Ronit Bisht continued their consistency with a 6-4 win, and Matthieu Peres and Youssef Tamimount's convincing 6-3 victory saw each earn their first as Golden Eagles in what was also their first time as a pair.
It marked the third time this year that Southern Miss won the doubles point.
Mieszko Kwasniewski's decisive showing in No. 6 singles marked his second win of the year, while Reyes picked up his team-leading fifth.
Next up for the Golden Eagles is a Friday afternoon (1 p.m.) tilt against Appalachian State in Boone, N.C.
