Women’s Soccer to Wrap Up Regular Season Against Louisiana Tech on Friday

Seniors Karsen Gildea, Jessica Shepherd, Kaitlin Fayard and Jacky Manteas will all be honored after Friday’s match as a part of Senior Day.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss women's soccer team (7-9-1, 2-6-1 C-USA) will conclude its regular season against Louisiana Tech (12-4-2, 4-4-1 C-USA) on Friday afternoon (November 1). The Golden Eagles and the Lady Techsters will kick-off at 3:00 p.m. (CT) at the Southern Miss Soccer Complex.
The Last Time Out
The last time that Southern Miss took the pitch, they tied UAB, 0-0 after taking the match to double overtime.
In the final minutes of the second overtime period, Southern Miss redshirt senior defender/midfielder Jacky Manteas almost netted what would have been the game-winning goal after heading a ball past UAB goalkeeper Eve Beyer, but her goal was waived off due to an offside call.
Southern Miss outshot UAB 26-14 in the match. 12 of the Golden Eagles' 26 shots were on goal. Southern Miss also ended the match with a 6-5 corner kicks advantage over UAB.
