Women’s Soccer Slated to Host Middle Tennessee on Friday

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss women's soccer team (7-8-0, 2-5-0 C-USA) will host Middle Tennessee (6-9-1, 3-4-1 C-USA) on Friday, October 25 at 3:00 p.m. (CT) at the Southern Miss Soccer Complex.
The Last Time Out
The last time that the Golden Eagles took the pitch, they defeated UTEP, 3-1 at University Field in El Paso, Texas on Sunday afternoon (October 20).
Southern Miss junior forward Ariel Diaz led the way offensively, netting two goals in the contest.
Diaz gave the Golden Eagles a 1-0 lead after scoring her first goal of the match off of an assist by Jenny Caracheo in just the sixth minute.
Diaz's second goal of the match came in the 76th minute after she stole the ball from UTEP and finished off a shot.
Freshman defender Madisyn Flammia produced Southern Miss' second goal of the match, after finding the back of the net off of a set piece in the 15th minute of play. Junior midfielder JoAnnie Ramos was credited with the assist on Flammia's goal.
In the 59th minute, Tessa Carlin produced the lone goal for UTEP in the contest. Carlin was assisted by Lilly Marquez and Nicole Pugsley.
Southern Miss outshot UTEP 15-14 in the contest.

Middle Tennessee currently leads the all-time series, 5-3-1. Southern Miss is 3-0-1 when hosting Middle Tennessee at home in Hattiesburg and 2-3-0 in contests played on the road in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
