Redshirt junior forward Hailey Pohevitz led the Golden Eagles offense with two goals in the contest.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Southern Miss women's soccer team (6-7-0, 1-4-0 C-USA) fell to Charlotte (9-3-0, 4-1-0 C-USA) by a final score of 4-2 on Friday night at Transamerica Field.

A goal by Jamie Frankhauser off of an assist by Julia Grainda in the 17^th minute gave Charlotte an early 1-0 lead.

Charlotte extended its lead to 2-0 in the 29^th minute of the match on an unassisted goal by Julia Patrum.

Redshirt junior forward Hailey Pohevitz got Southern Miss on the scoreboard after finding the back of the net in the 37^th minute.

Frankhauser put Charlotte in front, 3-1 in the 48^th minute after netting her second goal of the match. Patrum was credited with the assist on Frankhauser's goal.

Charlotte tacked on another goal when Ashton McKane scored in the 67^th minute off of an assist by Patrum.

In the 78^th minute, Pohevitz tallied her second goal of the match, cutting the scoring deficit in half. Junior defender Caitlin Pierce picked up the assist on the goal by Pohevitz.

After recording two goals against Charlotte, Pohevitz has now tallied a total of seven for the season, making her Southern Miss' leading goal scorer in 2019.

Southern Miss will return to action on Thursday, October 17 when they take on UTSA at the Park West Athletics Complex in San Antonio, Texas.
