Women’s Soccer Travels to North Carolina for Friday Night Contest Against Charlotte

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss women's soccer team (6-6-0, 1-3-0 C-USA) will travel to North Carolina for a Friday night contest against Charlotte (8-3-0, 3-1-0 C-USA). The Golden Eagles and the 49ers will kick-off at 6:00 p.m. (CT)/7:00 p.m. (ET). The match will be played at Transamerica Field on the campus of Charlotte.
When the Golden Eagles take the pitch on Friday night they will be looking to capture their first road win against the 49ers in program history.
The Last Time Out
The last time that Southern Miss took the pitch, they fell to then ranked #19 FAU by a final score of 3-1 on Sunday (October 6).
FAU's Mary O'Hara gave the Owls a 1-0 lead after scoring a goal in the 23rd minute. However, FAU's lead would be short lived as Southern Miss junior forward Ariel Diaz scored an equalizing goal just 14 seconds later.
The match remained tied 1-1 until the 65th minute when FAU took a 2-1 lead via a Southern Miss own goal.
Tiril Haga added an insurance goal for the Owls in the 76th minute, capping off the scoring in the match.
